Responsibilities
Position will be responsible for journal entries reconciliations account analysis premium billing and cash receipts activities collections and collateral administration. Conduct Premium audits and control testing and reporting.
Key Functionswill include but not be limited to:
- Manage agency and direct billing of premiums and commission payments.
- Monitor payments perform collections apply cash receipts reconcile agent statements etc.
- Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts.
- Prepare bank and other reconciliations.
- Prepare journal entries and financial statement account analyses.
- Collaborate and coordinate with underwriters W.R. Berkley Company employees auditors agents and others as needed.
- Support SOX controls testing and reporting.
Qualifications
Preferred:
- 3 years experience
- General ledger journal entries and reconciliations
- Insurance industry experience
- Advanced MS Excel skills experience with Essbase and/or PeopleSoft GL
Required:
- Bachelors Degree in Accounting
- 2 years equivalent experience
- Intermediate MS Excel skills/experience
- Ability to work both independently and with a team
- Customer service skills directed at both external and internal customers
- Problem solving skills with initiative to drive things to conclusion/resolution
