Job Summary
Job Title: Telecommunicaion Engineer
Duration: 9 Months
Location: Austin TX. 78752
Mode of work: Hybrid - On Site and Telework
Description:
Provide leadership and oversight of Network Services operations including WAN LAN wireless SD-WAN and network security platforms
Oversee daily operational activities including incident management problem resolution and service availability
Serve as escalation point for high-priority network and infrastructure issues
Coordinate and prioritize workload across Network Services teams including infrastructure and security-focused functions
Support ongoing and planned initiatives including:
SD-WAN implementation and optimization
Network monitoring and observability tools (e.g. Thousand Eyes AppDynamics) Security integrations (e.g. Secure Workload NGFW identity services)
Provide vendor coordination and oversight for network-related services and contracts
Ensure compliance with Agency security standards policies and regulatory requirements
Participate in change management processes and ensure proper documentation and approvals
Collaborate with Infrastructure Engineering Data Center Telecom and Security teams to support cross-functional initiatives
Provide status reporting risk identification and mitigation planning to leadership
Maintain documentation of network architecture processes and operational procedures
Support knowledge transfer and continuity planning for the return of the permanent Network Services Manager
Must have:
7 years (Required): Proven experience performing supervisory and management responsibilities including providing clear direction to team members fostering collaboration and motivating teams to achieve organizational goals.
7 years (Preferred): Hands-on experience in administration maintenance and design of Cisco VoIP solutions ensuring reliable and scalable voice infrastructure.
5 years (Preferred): Demonstrated experience managing networking teams within highly complex enterprise-level environments.
5 years (Preferred): Strong experience in implementing and supporting 24x7x365 network voice and video environments ensuring high availability and operational continuity.
