Facilities Maintenance Technician

Job Summary
Provide maintenance services across 40 nonprofit and behavioral health programs including residential facilities outpatient and clinical spaces administrative offices and program sites serving vulnerable populations. Duties will include painting drywall repair appliance repair general repairs light plumbing and electrical work pressure washing and janitorial duties when necessary. Company vehicle and tools are provided.
SCOPE OF DUTIES:
Demonstrated experience performing a wide range of general and preventative maintenance tasks including painting drywall repair basic carpentry appliance repair light plumbing and basic electrical work. Working knowledge of building systems including plumbing electrical HVAC and life-safety systems.
Ability to safely operate hand tools power tools and general maintenance equipment.
Prioritize and manage a high volume of work orders across multiple locations while meeting established response-time expectations.
Coordinate maintenance activities to minimize disruption to program operations staff and clients.
Maintain familiarity with the unique physical layouts safety requirements and operational needs of each program site.
Travel between programs as required sometimes multiple locations per day to complete assigned maintenance tasks.
Maintain accurate records of completed work outstanding issues and recurring maintenance concerns across all programs.
Identify patterns of maintenance issues across programs and recommend improvements or preventative strategies to reduce downtime and repair costs.
Participate in an on-call rotation to respond to after-hours weekend and emergency maintenance issues as required.
Provide timely responses to urgent situations that may impact client safety program operations or facility security such as plumbing failures heating or cooling outages electrical issues or water leaks.
Assess emergency situations quickly and implement appropriate corrective actions including temporary repairs or securing affected areas until permanent repairs can be completed.
Communicate promptly with supervisors program leadership and external vendors during emergency situations. Document emergency responses and follow up with permanent repairs or recommendations to prevent recurrence.
Support emergency preparedness efforts including snow removal weather-related responses and facility readiness during power outages or other critical incidents.
Maintain client and staff confidentiality in compliance with administrative policies and procedures.
Attend and participate in regularly scheduled staff meetings supervisory conferences and training sessions.
Physical Requirements
Ability to perform physically demanding work on a regular basis including standing walking bending kneeling crouching crawling and climbing for extended periods of time.
Ability to lift carry push and pull up to 70 pounds without assistance on an occasional basis.
Ability to safely use ladders scaffolding and lifts to access rooftops ceilings and elevated work areas.
Ability to perform repetitive manual tasks requiring fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination such as using tools making repairs and handling small parts.
Ability to work in confined spaces mechanical rooms basements and outdoor environments.
Ability to work both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions including extreme heat cold rain snow and ice.
Ability to tolerate exposure to dust odors cleaning chemicals and other materials commonly associated with maintenance and janitorial work.
Ability to visually inspect equipment read labels work orders and safety instructions and identify hazards or maintenance concerns.
Ability to hear and respond to alarms emergency signals and verbal communications in potentially noisy environments.
Ability to operate hand tools power tools maintenance equipment snow removal equipment and cleaning machinery safely and effectively.
Ability to travel between multiple program sites throughout the workday as required.
