School Year: 2026-27Position: Dean of Family & Community EngagementCampus: United Middle Main (s): 6th-8th GradeReports to: School Director United Schools (United) is a nonprofit organization in Columbus Ohio. After founding its first school in 2008 it has worked together with incredible leaders to open three more schools in the span of ten years. Each United campus is an open enrollment public charter school that works diligently to close the opportunity gap in Columbus. Moreover the mission of all United campuses is to transform lives and our communities through the power of education while maintaining our vision: For every child an open door. United currently operates two high-performing elementary schools (K-5) and two high-performing middle schools (6-8) that serve more than 900 students. We strive to provide students with a rigorous academic experience in a joyful learning environment and we work hard to ensure that students of all levels grow and succeed by focusing on intentional student support and continual improvement. Position DescriptionAt United Schools the Dean of Family and Community Engagement (DFCE) position is integral in building the visibility of the school in the community and creating a sense of community amongst families at the school. The DFCE works collaboratively to enroll/retain students supports families with resources and programming (in-house through the family resource center or external organizations) and ultimately facilitates the transition of students to their next school program. Additionally the DFCE supports attendance reporting and improvement efforts as well as student readiness for middle or high school. Lastly the DFCE creates experiences like family nights and extracurricular opportunities that provide a well-rounded school experience. Joining Our TeamUnited Core Traits:Mission-Driven. Terms of EmploymentAlthough this position will begin July 1 2026 applications will be considered is a full-time position. Report times are typically Monday through Friday 7:30 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. although some job-related tasks can be expected outside of these : The starting salary for a new Dean of Family & Community Engagement with a Bachelors degree is $55000.
