Facilities Management (FM) provides maintenance grounds and custodial services to the entire campus. FM serves as a partner within the zone structure for the Contract Colleges (CC) Endowed (EN) and Student and Campus Life (SCL) zones.
As a key steward of the Universitys facilities FMis responsible forfacility assessments skilled trades general construction building care grounds recycling asbestos and the management of planned corrective and preventive maintenance.

Perform installation and maintenance of all building heating ventilating airconditioningand direct digital building management control systems.Assistwith the maintenance of other building systems such as plumbing and electrical systems.May serve as Energy Management Control System (EMCS) operator.
Be accountable to work in a manner consistent with departmental and university defined
roles responsibilities and jurisdictional guidelines.
Acquireandmaintainlicenses and/or special knowledge to perform work and maintain
specialized equipment as.
Maintain good working relationship with building coordinators departments customers
and the Cornell community.
Utilize electronic work management system to receive work assignments and
prioritization and document and record all efforts. Maintainappropriate recordsand
logs.
This isa benefitseligible union position within the BTC. The starting pay rate is $41.72/hour.

Werequirethese qualifications:
Ability to cultivate and develop inclusive working relationships with students faculty staff and community members.
Must have a high school diploma or equivalent and a minimum of five (5) years of experience in the building management control system field.
Must belong to the local Electrician orPlumbers Union orjoin within30 daysof employment.
Must have the ability to prepare written documentsreportsand summaries of work activities.
Must have excellent interpersonal communication and customer service skills as well as the ability to work in a team environment.
Must be knowledgeable of building mechanical systems including hydronics steam and air handler unit systems.
Must be able to wear respirator and other employer-provided safety and PPE.
Must have andmaintaina valid unrestricted US drivers license.
Must have experience with computers and building controls systems.
May beto use own vehicle on the job.
Will beto inspect and work in crawl spaces attics laboratories ventilation equipment mechanical rooms mechanical shafts subbasementsand confined isolated areas.Access to these may be by ladder or scaffold tower on platforms up to 100 high.
Risk exposure to asbestos toxic vapors heat cold height and accumulated dirt.
Must be available to work overtime as duties require including weekends.
Possibility of shift work.Delivers heavy material to job sites.
Must have ability to ascend and descend heights have agility and freedom of movement ability to climb stairs ladders and scaffold and ability to move easily in confined spaces.
You will be a top candidate with our preferred qualifications:
Apprentice certification desirable.
Position will require the ability to work shift work.
Ability to work with a small team with considerable independence.
Familiarity with OSHA safety requirements preferred.
Pneumatic experience preferred.
