Full-Cycle Accountant
Job Summary
The Full-Cycle Accountant will be responsible for managing the full accounting cycle in a fast-paced project-based environment. This role is hands-on and requires strong experience with accounts payable accounts receivable payroll bank reconciliations journal entries month-end close and general ledger maintenance. The ideal candidate is organized accurate proactive and comfortable working in-office with operational teams.
Key Responsibilities
Manage full-cycle accounting activities from transaction entry through month-end close.
Process accounts payable including invoice coding approvals vendor setup payment runs and reconciliations.
Handle accounts receivable including customer invoicing collections follow-up cash application and aging review.
Prepare and process payroll accurately and on time including deductions adjustments ROEs and payroll reconciliations.
Record journal entries and maintain general ledger accuracy.
Complete bank credit card and balance sheet reconciliations.
Assist with monthly quarterly and year-end financial reporting.
Support job costing project accounting and margin tracking as needed.
Maintain organized accounting records filing and documentation.
Prepare HST/GST and other statutory remittances.
Work closely with operations project management and leadership to resolve billing and coding issues.
Support annual audit preparation and respond to accountant or auditor requests.
Assist with process improvements and internal controls.
Qualifications :
5 years of progressive accounting experience including full-cycle accounting.
Strong experience with AR AP payroll reconciliations and month-end close.
Experience in a project-based construction trades or service business is preferred.
Comfortable working in a high-volume deadline-driven environment.
Strong attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.
Proficiency with accounting software and advanced Excel skills.
Knowledge of Canadian payroll and accounting practices.
Ability to work independently while supporting a collaborative team.
Post-secondary education in accounting finance or a related field is preferred.
CPA designation or working toward CPA is an asset but not required.
Preferred Experience
Experience in the security construction electrical mechanical or systems integration industry.
Familiarity with job costing work-in-progress reporting and project-based revenue recognition.
Experience with payroll administration and employee expense processing.
Exposure to intercompany transactions or multi-entity accounting.
