Job Summary

Position Summary:

The Plant Manager leads the Compton facility optimizing profitability of operations by managing staff and facilitating the accomplishments of PCCs business objectives. Operating in a decentralized and highly autonomous context he will ensure increasing levels of customer and employee satisfaction while improving the efficiencies of daily operations.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Understand adhere and demonstrate to the companys commitment to QUALITY and SAFETY!
  • Ensure daily tracking and adherence to budget adjusting short term plans to accommodate revenue dynamics.
  • Own the facilitys P&L budgets forecasts and strategic plan development and execution.
  • Develop coordinate implement monitor and update long-range plans by translating Executive Team goals and objectives into actionable programs and initiatives;
  • Review financial statements sales and activity reports and other performance data to measure productivity and goal achievement and to determine areas needing cost reduction and program improvement;
  • Work with other Directors/Managers to coordinate and align operations and activities; Plan and establish work schedules assignments and resources to meet Division goals;
  • Direct and coordinate organizations financial and budget activities to fund operations maximize investments and increase efficiency;
  • Develop short and long term business strategies that ensure sustained growth revenue profit and cash flow.
  • Recruits manages and appraises senior management and ensures there is an adequately trained effective management team;
  • Oversees manufacturing and materials department to review production and operating reports to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays and to meet future growth;
  • Partner with HR and direct reports to resolve problems complaints or grievances and to plan and forecast staffing;
  • Partner closely with EHS Quality Sales Finance Supply Chain and HR to ensure aligned objectives and effective processes.
  • Champion Six Sigma and facilitate lean initiatives;
  • Develop and deploy management metrics;
  • Set and facilitate plant wide communication expectations including daily weekly and monthly requirements.
  • Lead monthly and quarterly business reviews with Division and Corporate leadership.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Skills:

  • Demonstrated knowledge and ability to apply structured problem solving and related tools ISO expectations basic statistical methods and other industry-standard skills including Lean Manufacturing TOC Six Sigma and structured problem-solving methods.
  • Ability to employ right to left thinking and drive the 26 analytical and reporting schedules utilized by PCC.
  • Sound cross-functional knowledge and ability to operate with all functions and departments
  • P&L responsibility in at least one prior position
  • Demonstrated capability in lean manufacturing techniques and JIT concepts
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Proven ability to lead/support objectives targets and goals
  • Ability to influence negotiate and gain commitment at all organizational levels.
  • Customer relations with regard to work scheduling pricing and sales
  • New business development through continued customer relations
  • Possess high professional ethics good judgement and its ability to take decisive actions;
  • Knowledge of raw materials production processes quality controls and costs;
  • Knowledge of machines tools and tooling including their designs uses repair and maintenance;
  • Proven capability to develop action plans execute relentlessly and deliver results.
  • Knowledge of ERP and similar production management systems;
  • Knowledge of management principles involved in strategic planning and forecasting including people material and equipment resource allocation; corporate and human resource policies and benefits; leadership and teaming; and production methods;
  • Demonstrate an ability to lead motivate develop and direct people;
  • Consider costs and benefits of potential actions to choose the most appropriate one;
  • Able to establish and communicate clear priorities and to influence others to support and act on those priorities;
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects with competing deadlines.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to plan document and execute key initiatives.

Required Experience:

  • 5-10 years in successive leadership roles in a metals cutting forging and / or processing business with Manufacturing and Logistics emphasis (Tier 1 Automotive supplier Metals Manufacturing and/or Aerospace Industry)
  • 5-7 years supervising salaried managerial and/or technical personnel.
  • 7 years related global manufacturing leadership experience

Level of Education:

  • Bachelors Degree in engineering or technical field required MS or MBA Preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience leading people and obtaining results through large cross-functional organizations.
  • Strong track record engaging directly with customers.

Physical Demands & Working Condition:

  • May be required to move items up to 35 pounds.
  • Exposed to a Manufacturing setting with heavy machinery.
