Position Overview:

Job Description:

• Complete block repairs (CAT Wauksha White Superior) on the Rottler machine such as installation of lower and upper liners mill deck and peak lifter bores saddles ends align bore

• Performs basic cold repair using Lock N Stitch and Irontite pins thread repairs polish align bores (mains) and inspecting cylinder blocks

• Make accurate and cost-effective recommendations for individual part repairs

Qualifications:

• Journeyperson Machinist ticket or interprovincial Red Seal is required

• Preference given to those who fall within the value stream & qualify as defined in Schedule C

• Multiple years working experience and competency in a crank block salvage or machine shop

• Previous experience machining engine blocks using Rottler Machines is preferred

• Previous exposure to and experience with CNC Programming

• Ability to demonstrate accuracy in measuring skills

• Ability to read and understand technical documentation

• Must be able to communicate written and spoken English effectively

• Strong organizational skills and ability to follow work instructions

• Ability to regularly lift and handle material weighing up to 40 pounds

• A condition of employment is the ability to be fit tested and wear a respirator

• Candidate must demonstrate the ability to work in a safe manner and comply in all aspects of the organizations policies and procedures

Note:

• This posting is for a static weekend shift scheduled Friday Saturday and Sunday; 12 hours per day

• Any future shift changes that may occur will be made in accordance with the terms and conditions of the Collective Agreement

• Hourly Rate: $53.05 / Hour
