Workplace Health and Safety Manager (12Month FixedTerm Contract)
Job Summary
- WHS Governance & Safety Culture - Coordinate and embed workplace health and safety activities across a multisite resort environment manage incident reporting and investigations conduct risk assessments and actively promote a proactive compliant and riskaware safety culture for team members contractors and guests.
- Audits Reporting & Compliance - Lead internal and external WHS audits maintain compliance registers and certification schedules analyse safety data and trends implement corrective actions and ensure contractor activities meet legislative organisational and WorkSafe NT requirements.
- Training Onboarding & Capability Building - Deliver WHS training to leaders WHS committee members and team members support onboarding compliance maintain accurate training records and coach leaders to strengthen safety leadership accountability and operational capability.
- Continuous Improvement Environment & ESG - Drive continuous improvement by reviewing WHS systems and performance leading environmental and risk audits supporting ESG and compliance reporting and implementing practical improvements to safety sustainability and operational effectiveness.
- Stakeholder Collaboration & Influence - Act as a trusted advisor to senior leaders on WHS obligations chair WHS Committee meetings liaise with WorkSafe NT auditors insurers and returntowork providers and influence internal and external stakeholders to achieve positive safety and compliance outcomes.
Qualifications :
- Minimum 3 years practical experience in a Workplace Health & Safetyfocused role ideally within hospitality multisite operations or servicebased environments.
- Strong working knowledge of Australian Work Health & Safety legislation codes of practice and WHS management systems.
- Demonstrated experience conducting risk assessments incident investigations internal and external audits and managing corrective action plans.
- Proven ability to analyse safety data and trends to identify risks and drive continuous improvement.
- Certificate IV or Diploma in Work Health & Safety (or currently working towards).
- Experience delivering WHS training facilitating workshops and coaching leaders and committee members to strengthen safety capability (TAE qualification desirable but not essential).
- Familiarity with environmental management practices and contribution to ESG reporting and compliance activities is advantageous.
- Experience liaising with WorkSafe NT inspectors auditors insurers or other regulatory bodies is preferred.
- Strong organisational communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence safety outcomes across a diverse workforce.
