Job Description
10% Responsible for the fiscal management and reporting of all financial activity related to the use of Childrens Hospital Foundation funds (150 individual expendable funds with balance of $45M as of FY25 and estimated $2.5M spend annually processed via MUHA procurement and payroll)
10% Serves as financial liaison between MUSC Foundation MUHA Shawn Jenkins Childrens Hospital Childrens and Womens Health and its clinical and administrative stakeholders.
10% Maintains current fund balances to include recent commitments and donations provides monthly/quarterly/annual reports on performance to Childrens and Womens Leadership. Maintains knowledge of intended purpose of individual funds and ensures funds are being spent in accordance with intended purpose. Coordinates with MUSC Foundation in establishment of new funds in accordance with donation intent MUSC Foundation policies and MUHA signatory approval.
10% As an integral financial partner for the CHW ICCE collaborates closely with ICCE Strategic Administrative Officer ICCE Chief ICCE Nursing Administrator and ICCE Business/Operations Director on all strategic planning initiatives ensuring financing for MUHA operations remain separate from Philanthropic support.
10% Helps to connect identified unfunded needs of Childrens Hospital with opportunities for fundraising via coordination and transparency with the MUSC Foundation Integrated Finance and Administrative teams.
20% Provides financial management and oversight of the MUHA Foundation funded Cost Center as part of CHW ICCE financial rollup. Manages all financial transactions running through this cost center to ensure timely procurement documentation reimbursement.
o Annual estimate of 1000 individual transactions with total annual spend estimate of $2.5M
o Coordinates all procurement activities related to Foundation funded purchases to include all OurDay approvals purchasing card approvals capital purchase approvals and processing (1000 transactions annually).
o Ensures all equipment and service contracts are coordinated via Symplr electronic legal process in coordination with MUHA Legal and Procurement guidelines (100 purchasing contracts annually).
o Prepares annual budget for Foundation Funded Cost Center and provides monthly reconciliation of budget and variance notes within Axiom.
o Maintains knowledge of all state procurement guidelines.
10% Serves as primary point of contact for all new requests for Foundation funded support. (Includes all 10 clinical units within SJCH plus all support departments not limited to but to include Child Life Social Work Dietary Inpatient Rehab Palliative Care Dietary Medical & Legal Partnership Pediatric Meducare Peds Trauma PT/RT/OT Cath Lab Echo Lab Peds Prep/Recovery Anesthesia Pharmacy Radiology Lab Volunteer Services).
10% Maintains required documentation on requested use of funds by each stakeholder estimated spend fund approvals actual spend and ultimately timely reimbursement of expenses.
5% Interacts and provides fund detail to all pediatric physician and administrative stakeholders. Provides quarterly reports to stakeholders whose funding is part of a larger project or program. Produces annual reports for donor stewardship documented use/spend of funds for the year.
5% Maintains all audit files for Foundation transactions. Maintains all HR and payroll reports and approvals related to staffing support.
Additional Job Description
Required Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance Business Administration or related field.
Minimum 4 years of professional experience in research administration accounting or financial management.
Proven ability to analyze complex financial data and provide strategic recommendations.
Excellent communication and organizational skills with a collaborative approach.
Ability to meet deadlines while being detail-oriented.
