At Garden Spot Village our Cook Supervisors are the heart and soul of the kitchena culinary captain who keeps the pots bubbling the team moving and the residents smiling. Part chef part coach and part magician they transform everyday ingredients into comforting delicious meals that feel like home.

What Youll Do

• Complies with established policies and procedures and maintains established standards and practices including the Compliance Program/Code of Conduct.
• Follows Residents Rights policies at all times.
• Treats all information about residents their condition and family as confidential.
• Possesses an understanding and preparation of recipes and/or product directions for preparing seasoning cooking tasting carving and serving soups meats vegetables desserts and other foodstuffs for consumption in our eating establishments.
• Assists with the supervision of Dining Services personnel.
• Prepares bakery items takes and receives inventory moves and lifts foodstuffs and supplies and prepares meals for customers according to customer need or dietary restrictions.
• Serves as lead cook by guiding assisting training and assigning tasks.
• Under minimal supervision independently performs advanced cooking duties in preparing food items to be served to customers.
• Advanced knife skills required.
• Assists in food ordering according to menu and department needs.
• Supports all Dining Services department restaurants and campus events.
• Prepares food and serves customers at an a la carte or station.
• Prepares food in accordance with current applicable federal state and corporate standards guidelines and regulations to ensure high-quality food service is provided.
• Reads food orders or receives verbal instructions on food required by patrons and prepares and cooks food according to instructions.
• Tastes products reads menus estimates food requirements checks production and keeps records in order to accurately plan production requirements and requisition supplies and equipment.
• Complies with all HACCP policies and procedures.
• May clean and sanitize work stations and equipment and must follow all GSV and regulatory rules and procedures.
• Provides the highest quality of service to customers at all times.
• Performs all duties assigned in an effective timely and professional manner.
• Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

What Were Looking For

• Available to work weekends and holidays.
• Ability to work closely with others in a spirit of cooperation and identifies with and promotes the Mission and Philosophy of Garden Spot Village.
• Knowledge of cooking procedures and large quantity recipes.
• Able to prepare and serve food according to menus and recipes.
• Must be willing to train and participate in ongoing staff development programs.
• Displays initiative.
• Graduate of food-related course helpful (Serv Safe).
• Ability to relate to and communicate with employees residents and the general public in a friendly and professional manner.

Additional Information

This position is full time 4 days a week with every other weekend 10am-8:00pm!
