Job Summary
Sets up and performs routine and established lab procedures in support of lab goals grant commitments i.e. assays cell/tissue culture animal studies etc. Monitors results reports unusual outcomes and suggests modifications. Collects enters and summarizes data. Assists in the maintenance of lab equipment and supplies. Performs basic statistical data analysis; prepares tables/charts/graphs and assists in organizing data. Presents at research laboratory meetings and contributes to writing of manuscripts. Works under supervision and may perform some assignments independently as discussed and approved by Principal Investigator.
Additional Information:
The Curtis Lab is seeking a highly motivated Research Technologist to support an active NIH-funded translational research program focused on cancer immunotherapy immunometabolism and tumor antigen discovery in ovarian cancer. Our laboratory integrates primary human samples advanced immunologic assays and direct clinical trial engagement to develop next-generation immunotherapies.
This position provides outstanding preparation for graduate or professional training in biomedical sciences and offers significant opportunities for hands-on research intellectual growth and scientific mentorship.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine and advanced laboratory techniques related to cancer immunology and immunometabolism
- Isolate and process primary human specimens including blood and tumor-derived samples
- Conduct cell culture experiments (immune cells tumor cells organoids as applicable)
- Perform flow cytometry ELISA T cell functional assays and molecular biology techniques
- Assist with immunologic assays related to antigen discovery and T cell responses
- Assist with mouse colony management and mouse models of ovarian cancer
- Maintain accurate experimental records analyze data and contribute to figure preparation
- Manage laboratory inventory reagents and equipment maintenance
- Contribute to ongoing translational and clinical trialassociated research efforts
- Participate in lab meetings and contribute to a collaborative research environment
*This is a limited tenure position that has been approved for two years that may have the possibility of turning into a regular position.

Qualifications
Requires bachelors degree in biology chemistry other relevant science or an associates degree with 6 years of relevant laboratory experience. Must exhibit a solid understanding of lab techniques equipment and safety. Must have the ability to organize and carry out laboratory techniques independently and in a team setting. Experience with basic data analysis is required. This position requires demonstrated writing skills.
Additional Preferred Experience and Qualifications:
- Prior laboratory research experience (academic or industry)
- Experience with one or more of the following:
- Flow cytometry
- Mammalian cell culture
- Immunologic or molecular biology assays
- Handling of human clinical samples
- Mouse models of cancer
- Interest in cancer immunotherapy translational research or clinical research
- Minimum commitment of 2 years strongly preferred
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative research team
- Commitment to high-quality reproducible science
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
