We take a comprehensive approach by offering more than 160 integrated programs in: Education& Youth Development Family Support Job Training & Employment Support Services Health Housing and Legal Services. We reach more than 65000 individuals and families each year at our 90 locations including 10000 youth. CAMBA serves a diverse cross section of New Yorkers from new mothers in Brownsville to job seekers in the Rockaways. More than half of our clients are immigrants and refugees from around the globe. Over 85% of our familiesare inliving in poverty reflecting the challenges faced bynearly 1.7million New Yorkers today.
CAMBA administers services at 9 Cornerstone Community Centers across Brooklyn. All Cornerstone programs are run in partnership with other community organizations to provide education recreation cultural activities health information and screenings youth leadership and social services to the neighborhoods students their families and other residents. Activities and services are available after school evenings and on weekends.

What does the Receptionist do:
- Maintain professional relationships with clients and client confidentiality.
- Practice Universal Precautions/Standard Protocol & Procedures.
- Comply with any and all Federal State City and CAMBA security and privacy polices intended to protect the security and privacy of individually identifiable health information.
- Retrieve messages from general voicemail and forward to appropriate personnel.
- Take or deliver messages or transfer calls to voicemail when appropriate personnel are unavailable.
- Answer questions about organization and provide callers with address directions and other information.
- Welcome onsite visitors determine nature of business and announce visitors to appropriate personnel.
- Monitor visitor access and issues passes when required.
- Update appointment calendars.
- Receive sort and route mail and maintain and route publications.
- Maintain fax and copy machines assist users send faxes and retrieve and route incoming faxes.
- Update site bulletin board weekly.
- Maintain the professional appearance of the receptionists area.
- Maintain package log and program papers
- Order receive and maintain office supplies.
- Create and print memos correspondence reports program marketing materials and other document when necessary.
- Administer and track application forms.
- Contact and schedule potential participants for assessments.
- Assist with screening potential participants.
- Organize and maintain filing system (i.e. - files must include waiting list application forms etc.).
- Perform other clerical duties as needed such as filing photocopying and collating.
- May perform computer data entry/verification functions.
- Tasks may be modified expanded and/or assigned over time.
Qualifications:
Education Licenses and/or Certifications Required:
- Sufficient education (English-speaking -reading -writing & math abilities) to comprehend oral and written information and to assist callers and visitors and staff.
Minimum Experiences and Skills Required:
- Ability to type 25 words per minute.
- If off-site or school-based may require: Dept. of Health Dept. of Education fingerprint clearance; doctors note certifying good health; proof of negative results from TB test; and State Central Registry (SCR) clearance.
- If off-site or school-based ability to maintain State Central Registry (SCR) clearance and fingerprint clearance throughout the duration of employment.
Compensation:$17.00 hourly
When salary ranges are listed therangewouldrepresentthe low and high end for the applicable position & program. The salary offeredwouldbe based onvarious factorsunique to each program and includes but is not limited to experience education budget and/or program size internal equityskillsand other factors that may berequiredfor the position and organization.
Status:Full-time (35 hours per week)
