Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for a PACU role supporting both adult and pediatric patients in a one-day surgery setting. The ideal candidate will have strong pre-operative and post-anesthesia recovery experience along with a solid background in critical care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide pre-operative and post-anesthesia patient care
- Monitor patients during recovery from anesthesia
- Perform thorough nursing assessments and intervene as needed
- Collaborate with surgical and anesthesia teams
- Ensure accurate documentation in the electronic medical record system
Required Experience & Skills:
- Minimum 2 years of recent PACU experience (within the last 2 years)
- Experience in both outpatient and inpatient PACU settings
- Critical Care experience required
- Pediatric PACU experience required
- Experience in acute care facilities of similar size and acuity
- Familiarity with electronic medical records (EPIC preferred)
Qualifications:
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (New York State)
- BLS certification required
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
