As Head of People you will sit at the centre of this shift acting as a trusted strategic partner to executive leaders and leading how People Partnering delivers value across the enterprise.
We are seeking to fill the following Head of People roles across focussed and dedicated portfolios with clear accountabilities:
- Head of People Business Lending Business Transaction Banking & COO
- Head of People Consumer COO
- Head of People Finance
- Head of People Technology
Whats the role
The Head of People is a senior strategic leadership role responsible for leading People Partnering for a division and partnering on enterprisewide initiatives that deliver Westpacs People Strategy.
You will operate as a critical advisor to senior leaders shaping workforce culture and leadership outcomes while embedding a strong riskaware inclusive and highperformance culture. Working closely with Centres of Expertise you will ensure people solutions are integrated scalable and aligned to business objectives risk appetite and regulatory expectations.
This role plays a central role in enterprise transformation supporting leaders through change complexity and accountability while strengthening how People operates as a true strategic partner.
What will I be accountable for
As Head of People you will be accountable for:
- Leading the delivery of the People Strategy in alignment with business priorities risk frameworks and regulatory requirements.
- Acting as a strategic partner and trusted advisor to executive and senior leaders influencing decisions that shape workforce capability culture and performance.
- Providing leadership on largescale organisational change transformation and restructuring ensuring outcomes are sustainable and riskmanaged.
- Identifying overseeing and escalating peoplerelated risk ensuring issues are managed appropriately and consistently.
- Embedding inclusive ethical and highperformance behaviours across the division.
- Partnering closely with Centres of Expertise to deliver integrated solutions across talent leadership organisation design reward and culture.
- Using people insights and data to inform senior leader decisionmaking and anticipate future workforce and capability risks.
- Representing People at enterprise governance forums committees and strategic initiatives.
Success in the role will be measured through outcomes such as leader effectiveness retention and mobility diversity and inclusion metrics and the strength of culture and risk management across the division.
What do I need
You will be a highly experienced people leader with the credibility and confidence to operate at executive level bringing:
- Proven experience leading enterprise or divisional People Partnering in a complex regulated environment.
- Strong strategic leadership and vision with the ability to link people strategy directly to business and commercial outcomes.
- Deep expertise in regulatory governance and people risk management including complex and sensitive matters.
- Demonstrated capability in organisational design transformation and largescale change leadership.
- Highimpact executive influence and coaching skills with the ability to challenge and support leaders to lift performance.
- Strong commercial and financial acumen enabling informed pragmatic decisionmaking.
- A collaborative leadership style with experience working across Centres of Expertise to deliver integrated people solutions.
- A valuesled approach with a strong commitment to inclusion ethical practice and building sustainable culture.
