Job Summary
The opportunity
Were currently looking for a Category Buyer Commercial and Industrial to join our R&D and Procurement this role you will be responsible for driving sourcing activities within commercial and industrial areas supporting both short and longterm strategies. You will work closely with stakeholders across brand marketing logistics and sales to ensure procurement delivers measurable business value and supports Polestars growth.
You will be part of a collaborative procurement organisation where business focus sustainability and value creation go hand in hand. The role offers a broad interface and the opportunity to work with both established suppliers and new partners contributing to Polestars ambition to be a strong and trusted business partner.
This position is located in Gothenburg Sweden. We believe in a hybrid model when it comes to remote and onsite work knowing that both inperson collaboration and individual time to focus are needed. Some travel may occur depending on project and stakeholder needs.
The responsibilities
In this role youll be expected to support and execute category strategies while managing sourcing activities and supplier relationships. Working as a member of the procurement team youll contribute to commercial performance and operational efficiency.
Negotiate agreements that deliver cost savings efficiency gains and improved supplier performance against business objectives
Manage sourcing activities and contract renewals within commercial and industrial categories
Engage and influence stakeholders across commercial brand marketing and logistics areas to align sourcing decisions with business needs
Identify and mitigate supply risks while monitoring market developments and benchmarks
Collaborate with group procurement teams to leverage synergies and shared strategies
The ideal candidate
To succeed in this role and at Polestar in general you combine a structured way of working with a clear business mindset. You are comfortable handling multiple stakeholders confident in negotiations and motivated by creating value through collaboration. You work analytically stay curious about markets and suppliers and take ownership of your categories from analysis to execution.
In addition youll need the following qualifications:
Experience as a buyer within procurement or category management enabling you to independently manage sourcing activities and negotiations
Experience from marketing logistics or commercial procurement which is key to understanding stakeholder needs and category dynamics
A university degree in Business Administration Economics or a technical discipline providing a solid foundation for analytical and commercial work
Strong analytical skills and experience with spend analysis cost drivers and market benchmarking used to identify opportunities and manage risk
Fluency in English as it is the language of written and spoken communication at Polestar
