Job Summary
Job Title: Mid-Level QA & Software Tester (Hybrid)
Location: Washington DC
Duration: 12 Months with Possible Extension
Role Overview:
The QA/Testers will own end-to-end QA for a web-based enterprise Case Management System (COTS product similar to C-Track).
They will be responsible for:
- Full testing lifecycle (manual automation)
- Independent validation (since development is by vendor)
- Working in an Agile environment
Minimum Qualifications
- 5 8 years of QA / Software Testing experience
Experience in:
- Web-based enterprise applications
- End-to-end QA ownership
- Agile environments
Must have:
- Manual testing (strong)
- Test case design & execution
- Defect tracking (ServiceNow preferred)
- Test automation (Selenium WebDriver)
- SQL / database validation (frontend-based validation)
Good to have:
- Performance testing (LoadRunner preferred)
- Accessibility testing (JAWS)
- Experience with COTS systems
- Government / public sector experience
Key Technical Environment
- Automation: Selenium WebDriver
- Defect Tracking / RTM: ServiceNow
- Database: SQL Server
- Performance Testing: LoadRunner
- Environments: Dev QA UAT Staging Performance
Responsibilities
Testing & QA
- Develop test plans test cases and test scenarios
- Perform:
- Functional testing
- Integration testing
- Regression testing
- UAT support
- End-to-end testing
- Database validation (via application)
- Accessibility testing (JAWS)
- Performance & load testing
- Disaster recovery validation
Automation
- Design and develop automated test scripts (Selenium)
- Maintain automation frameworks
- Execute regression automation
- Capture performance metrics during testing
Defect & Quality Management
- Log and track defects in ServiceNow
- Maintain Requirements Traceability Matrix (RTM)
- Participate in defect triage
- Ensure full test coverage
Documentation
- Create:
- Test plans
- Test cases
- Test reports
- Automation documentation
- User guides
- Establish QA standards (IEEE/ISTQB-based)
Agile & Collaboration
- Work in Agile environment (vendor-driven)
- Participate in:
- Standups (as needed)
- Sprint planning (if requested)
- Coordinate with:
- CMS vendor team
- ITD Project Manager
Additional Responsibilities
- Validate data migration from legacy systems
- Provide training to end users and QA staff
- Support test environments and tools
- Ensure SDLC compliance
