Position: Technical Support Engineer
Location: Westford MA office or the Ann Arbor Michigan - Onsite
Need Market rate and skill Availability
Desired experience and skills:
- Bachelors degree with 2 years of technical support experience and a strong foundation in ISP level networking and routing
- Intermediate/expert level experience with Linux OS
- Advanced networking knowledge including TCP/IP subnetting routing protocols (OSPF IS IS BGP) BGP peering policies VPNs/tunneling (MPLS L2TP) and hands on experience with Cisco and Juniper devices (preferred)
- Solid understanding of TCP based protocols
- Knowledge of or ability to learn Python to identify potential issues or bugs in source code for development support
- Strong customer focus with attention to detail and the ability to build effective relationships with internal teams and customers
- Excellent customer service with advanced written and verbal communication skills
- Participation in the support off hours on call rotation
- Proven ability to multitask across competing priorities
- Strong interpersonal teamwork and process development skills
- Solid analytical and critical thinking capabilities
- Ability to work across multiple hardware and software platforms
- Provide leadership and issue management during major customer outage calls
