Job Summary
The Finance Consultant (Expert) is responsible for delivering complex financial and IT solutions with a strong focus on SAP Finance processes. The role involves leading system implementations supporting global rollouts and ensuring alignment between business requirements and technical solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate market rollouts for finance-related solutions.
- Facilitate Fit-to-Template (FIT/GAP) workshops and drive process alignment.
- Ensure successful implementation testing and deployment of solutions.
- Maintain oversight of processes structures and system integrations within the feature team.
- Manage documentation including process designs and gap analysis.
- Coordinate defect resolution and support during rollout and stabilization phases.
- Oversee data collection migration mapping and system readiness activities.
- Support user acceptance testing (UAT) cutover planning and training delivery.
- Ensure alignment of business requirements with system capabilities.
- Take full ownership of finance-related processes systems and interfaces within projects.
Requirements
Essential Skills
- Strong financial accounting knowledge (e.g. Accounts Receivable Asset Accounting Cost Accounting)
- SAP Finance (FICO) experience (front-end user exposure)
- Change and project management capability
- Strong business acumen
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Ability to influence and negotiate effectively
- Experience in test planning test case design and execution
- Solid understanding of IT systems and integrated processes
Advantageous Skills
- Experience with SAP S/4HANA implementations or global template rollouts
- SAP functional consulting (FI/CO/MM)
- Exposure to SAP BW / BI tools
- Signavio process design experience
- German language skills
Experience & Qualifications
- BCom in Accounting
- Postgraduate qualification or certification (preferred)
- Chartered Accountant (CA) or MBA (advantageous)
Required Skills:
Qualifications: CA(SA) preferred or CIMA Experience: Minimum 3 years as a Financial Manager or similar role Experience in manufacturing or retail preferred Experience with import/export advantageous Exposure to sub-Saharan African markets advantageous Skills & Knowledge: Advanced Excel and MS Office / Google Suite proficiency IFRS for SMEs knowledge Familiarity with ERP systems Understanding of Companies Act and South African tax regulations Strong analytical problem-solving and communication skills Leadership and team management experience Core Competencies: Attention to detail and accuracy Ethical and professional conduct Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills Proactive results-driven and strategic thinker
