Job Summary

This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated nurse to contribute to the success of a well-established and well loved hospital. We are seeking a skilled Surgical Nurse with anaesthesia skills to complete our specialist surgery team - and most importantly make a meaningful difference in the lives of animals and their families.

This is a Part-time role. We provide the highest standard of nursing and patient care and we are seeking a qualified veterinary nurse to join our friendly dynamic surgical team.

As a Surgery Vet Nurse your responsibilities will include:

  • Assist in pre-operative and post-operative care
  • Surgery Preparation & Theatre Nursing
  • Provide expert nursing care during complex surgical procedures including anaesthesia and monitoring.
  • Carry out diagnostic tests
  • Collaborate with the surgical team and all departments to ensure a smooth and efficient workflow
  • Administer medications and follow established protocols
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records
  • Provide education and support to patients and their families
  • Willingness to when needed help the other department nurses which is integral to maintain a team atmosphere

About You:

  • Cert IV in Veterinary Nursing or equivalent qualification
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in veterinary nursing
  • Strong knowledge of surgical nursing techniques and procedures
  • Proficient anaesthesia skills with the ability to monitor patients safely and effectively
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Commitment to providing high-quality patient care and client service
