We are working with a leading professional legal firm that is seeking an experienced Paralegal to join its Private Client team in Edinburgh. This is an excellent opportunity to join a wellestablished and highly regarded department supporting Partners and senior colleagues while managing a varied and engaging caseload.
The role offers exposure to highquality Private Client work within a collaborative and supportive team environment.
Role Overview
This position plays a key role in the efficient and effective running of the Private Client department. You will provide proactive highlevel support while managing your own caseload and working closely with Partners Solicitors and wider specialist colleagues.
Youll suit this role if you are detailfocused organised and genuinely enthusiastic about Private Client work with the confidence to manage competing priorities and maintain excellent client care standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Administration of trusts and executries including highvalue taxable estates
- Assisting with asset protection and capital gains tax mitigation in relation to trusts and executries
- Managing guardianship administration matters
- Drafting wills and powers of attorney
- Maintaining regular client contact via telephone email and written correspondence
- Working collaboratively with Partners Solicitors Paralegals and Trust and Tax Accountants
- Ensuring effective financial management of your own caseload
Candidate Profile
We are looking for someone who has:
- Previous experience within a Private Client team (essential)
- Experience in executries and trust administration with exposure to drafting wills and powers of attorney
- The ability to manage their own caseload effectively while meeting deadlines
- A strong commitment to delivering high standards of client care and service
- Excellent attention to detail with strong written and verbal communication skills
- The ability to communicate confidently and adapt their approach when dealing with clients and colleagues
- A genuine interest and enthusiasm for Private Client work
Case management and IT skills are advantageous although full training and system support will be provided.
