Reporting to the CTE Coordinator the Vocational Teachers role is to help students learn career area subject matter in accordance with educational frameworks and skills that will contribute to their development as mature able and responsible men and women.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
*Teaches auto body skills and knowledge to provide students with the competence to be an economic asset to the employer.
*Instructs students in citizenship basic communication skills and other general elements of the course of study common to all teachers as specified in state law administrative regulations and procedures of the school system.
*Develops lesson plans and organizes class time so that preparation instruction shop work and clean-up activities can be accomplished within the allotted time following the curriculum adopted by the school committee.
*Demonstrates auto body materials equipment tools and processes using standard or teacher-prepared models mock-ups sketches and other instructional aids.
*Guides students in the selection and performance of appropriate activities.
*Provides individual and group instruction appropriate to the needs of the student(s) and the requirements of the activities being performed.
*Instructs students in the appropriate safety precautions and the safe operation and use of tools machinery and equipment.
*Controls the storage maintenance and use of materials and property to prevent loss or abuse.
*Evaluates student progress regularly.
*Maintains accurate complete and correct records as required y law school policy and administrative regulation.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
High School Diploma or equivalent
Five years of full-time employment directly related to Auto Collision and joining technologies.
CERTIFICATES AND LICENSES:
Chapter 74 licensure in the area of Auto Collision and joining technologies is required.
Possession of current Automotive Services Excellence (ASE) certification in at least two areas of automotive collision repair and refinishing (one of the areas must be painting/refinishing).
