Job Summary
Jamison Professional Services Inc. (Jamison) is currently seeking a qualified and motivated candidate for the position of Medical Support Assistant.
Job Title: Medical Support Assistant (MSA).
DESCRIPTION OF SERVICES:
The Medical Support Assistant is the responsible for the performance and coordination of appointment scheduling.
Responsibilities:
The contractor shall perform a full range of receptionist duties: customer service maintain appointment schedules for one or more clinics or unit operate office machines; store distribute account for stores of materials deliver messages be knowledgeable of business standards and/or operating procedures within each respective clinic assist with clinic access contingency plans by adjusting appointment times/locations/dates as well as shift patients to other healthcare providers as conflict with staffing and/or coverage occurs. These services must meet established standards enabling the Dayton VAMC Clinic Practice Management (CPM) Service to maintain a high level of quality in patient care and administrative accuracy.
Perform duties consistent with those of VA Advanced Medical Support Assistant (AMSA) personnel in similar roles.
Maintain and deliver comprehensive scheduling services within the personnel and equipment capabilities of the medical center ensuring quality and timely documentation of care and procedures.
Verifies Veteran eligibility for care demographic and insurance information and updates information in ISS/Oracle and in Insurance Capture Buffer (ICB).
Schedules Veteran in accordance to return to clinic (RTC) orders and VA scheduling guidelines and SOPs.
Monitors daily consults utilizing consult tracking manager (CTM) and consult toolbox (CTB). Documents all contact attempts in CTB. Schedule patients in accordance with VA scheduling guidelines and SOPs.
Monitors and schedules Veterans Health Information Systems and Technology Architecture (VistA) Scheduling Enhancements (VSE) Open Requests.
Monitors and completes RTC orders and schedules patients in accordance with VA policy and SOPs.
Monitors and schedules recall appointment in accordance with VA policy and SOPs.
Maintain communication with internal customers; Decedent Affairs Travel Release of Information (ROI) and Enrollment and Eligibility offices.
Operates copiers scanners and business equipment.
Complete all assigned work
REQUIRED AND DESIRED KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
U. S Citizen
Have a High School education or GED equivalent.
Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959
Subject to background/security investigation
Oral and written proficiency with English
Knowledge of Computer software such as Microsoft Word Excel Outlook and Microsoft Office Suite.
Knowledge of medical terminology
Minimum 12 months of experience as Medical Support Assistant
Physical Requirements:
Position requires visual acuity adequate auditory perception clear distinctive speech and manual dexterity. Position requires extended periods of sitting.
The position may require some bending and carrying of items.
The incumbent must be a mature flexible sensible individual capable of working effectively in stressful situations and able to shift priorities based on patient needs.
Must meet Employee Health mandates as a condition of employment.
Location: Dayton OH 45428
Schedule: This position operates within the hours of 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Monday through Friday with employees scheduled for 8-hour shifts five days per week. Occasional work on federal holidays may be required based on operational needs.
Clearance Level Required: Employment is contingent upon successfully completing any required background checks in accordance with applicable law.
