Compensation:$40.00

Reports To: Fine & Performing Arts Director and/or Summer Site Coordinator

Position Summary:

The Rock Band Camp Guitar Teacher/Band Director provides instruction and ensemble leadership for two high school rock band groups. This role supports student musicianship and performance in a pop/rock ensemble setting through technique instruction part assignment rehearsal coaching and collaboration with other band directors. The position also includes supporting a safe and well-managed learning environment. Essential Duties and Responsibilities The Guitar Teacher/Band Director responsibilities include but are not limited to: Assign guitar and bass parts for students in each of two high school groups. Teach lead and rhythm guitar parts and proper playing techniques in a pop/rock ensemble setting. Teach solo techniques for students assigned solo passages. Teach bass parts and proper bass technique as needed for ensemble -teach group rehearsals with other band directors emphasizing balance teamwork groove and stage performance to support strong ensemble outcomes for each group. Set up equipment and ensure safe use of instruments amps cables and related gear. Create and maintain a safe supportive and inclusive learning environment for all students. Professional Expectations Collaborate proactively and communicate effectively with fellow directors and program leadership. Maintain consistent student supervision and clear rehearsal routines. Model professionalism preparedness and positive rapport with students and staff.

Qualifications Required: Demonstrated experience teaching guitar (lead and rhythm) and/or directing student ensembles. Strong knowledge of pop/rock repertoire rehearsal practices and ensemble coaching. Ability to work effectively with high school students in a group setting.

Preferred: Experience teaching bass and coaching student solo development. Experience with stage performance coaching and basic live sound/equipment setup. PK12 school-based teaching or youth music program experience. Application Materials Letter of interest Resume 23 references
