Overview:

The Treasurer plays a crucial role in managing the financial operations of TMSA schools ensuring prudent financial planning accurate record-keeping compliance with regulatory requirements and a streamlined bank reconciliation process. This position collaborates closely with the finance team to support various functions including federal programs budgeting purchasing and compliance. The compensation for this position will be based on the managers role payroll scale.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in finance accounting business administration or a related field (Masters degree preferred).
  • Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in financial management accounting or treasury roles preferably in public or charter schools.
  • CPA (Certified Public Accountant) license is preferred.

Skills and Experience:

  • Proficiency in financial software and tools including advanced knowledge of Excel and Google Sheets.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles GAAP GAS and FASB standards.
  • Experience with nonprofit audit best practices and compliance with state and federal regulations governing nonprofit organizations.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to identify variances trends and opportunities for improvement.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal abilities with a track record of collaborating with diverse teams.
  • Proven ability to work independently while also contributing effectively within a team environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain accurate financial records including income expenses assets and liabilities utilizing financial software and tools.
  • Support financial transactions such as accounts payable accounts receivable and vendor payments.
  • Conduct bank reconciliations to ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial data.
  • Ensure compliance with local state and federal financial regulations and reporting requirements.
  • Collaborate with the budget analyst to develop and maintain the annual budget monitor budget performance and recommend adjustments as necessary.
  • Facilitate annual audits by providing necessary financial documentation and implementing audit recommendations.
  • Manage cash flow effectively to meet financial obligations and optimize resource allocation.
  • Analyze financial data and prepare clear and concise reports for school leadership and the Board of Directors.
  • Oversee all State and Federal programs including administering coordinating and monitoring fiscal and program documents for all programs and completing and submitting program applications.
  • Process payroll including calculating wages overtime commissions and bonuseswhile maintaining and updating employee payroll data ensuring compliance with federal state and local laws resolving discrepancies and employee inquiries and preparing auditing and distributing reports for management tax authorities and internal records.
