Job Summary

KPMG Australias United States Business Practice provides a comprehensive local service supporting USAustralia cross-border accounting capital markets and finance function needs. We help Australian and US companies navigate complex US GAAP/IFRS SEC reporting and Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) requirements across capital markets transactions and M&A activity.

We are seeking a Manager to support clients through capital markets transactions M&A buy-side and sell-side engagements and carve-outs with a strong focus on US GAAP/IFRS conversions US public company readiness and SOX compliance. This role combines deep technical accounting expertise with project leadership and cross-border collaboration.

What youll do

  • From an accounting advisory aspect lead and deliver capital markets readiness engagements supporting US IPOs SPAC transactions and US debt or bond offerings
  • Support M&A buy-side and sell-side transactions including accounting due diligence transaction accounting and post-deal reporting considerations
  • Support on carve-outs and divestitures including separation accounting historical financial information and readiness for standalone reporting
  • Provide US GAAP and IFRS technical accounting advisory including accounting conversions complex transaction accounting and accounting change programs
  • Support SEC reporting and public company readiness including identification of information gaps readiness assessments and ongoing reporting support
  • Design implement and support SOX compliance programs including control design documentation remediation and ongoing compliance
  • Manage end-to-end engagement delivery including planning resourcing budgets and risk management
  • Work closely with KPMG US and global teams to deliver coordinated cross-border outcomes
  • Build trusted relationships with senior client stakeholders including CFOs Controllers and finance leadership
  • Coach and develop team members contributing to a strong technical and performance-focused culture

Skills and experience

  • Strong experience in US GAAP IFRS or technical accounting advisory ideally within a consulting or professional services environment
  • Experience supporting M&A transactions including buy-side sell-side or carve-out engagements
  • Exposure to capital markets transactions such as IPOs SPACs M&A divestitures or US debt offerings
  • Exposure to SEC reporting and public company environments
  • Practical knowledge of SOX compliance and internal controls over financial reporting
  • Ability to translate complex technical and regulatory requirements into practical commercial advice
  • Proven people leadership experience including coaching and mentoring
  • Professional qualifications such as CA or CPA (or equivalent) are required
