The Assistant Field Hockey Coach at Lafayette College plays a vital role in supporting the head coach in all aspects of the program including coaching recruiting player development and administrative responsibilities. Competing in the Patriot League Lafayette values both academic excellence and athletic success requiring an assistant coach who can mentor student-athletes foster a positive team culture and ensure compliance with Lafayette College Patriot League and NCAA regulations. This position also involves collaborating with campus partners engaging in community outreach and assisting with fundraising and alumni relations to strengthen the programs long-term success.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Assist in practice planning game strategy and player development.

• Recruit high-achieving student-athletes who align with Lafayettes academic and athletic standards.

• Promote a culture of academic responsibility and achievement ensuring student-athletes meet Lafayettes rigorous academic expectations.

• Support student-athletes in leadership discipline and personal growth in alignment with Lafayettes values.

• Work closely with individual athletes to develop technical skills conditioning and mental preparation for competition.

• Support team logistics scheduling film analysis and travel coordination.

• Work with sports medicine and strength staff to promote injury prevention wellness and athlete recovery.

• Engage in community outreach alumni relations and fundraising efforts.

• Collaborate with the marketing and communications team to promote the teams achievements and recruit visibility.

• Foster a positive disciplined and inclusive team culture.

• Collegiate playing or coaching experience preferably at the Division I level.

• Bachelors Degree required. Masters Degree preferred.

• Background in data analytics and/or sport science.

• Upon position acceptance successful completion of PA State Police Criminal Background Check PA Child Abuse History Clearance Form and Federal (FBI) Fingerprint Criminal Background Check.
