Title: Sterile Supply Technician
Location: Syracuse NY (13215)
Schedule: 42 Hours/Week Night Shift
Job Summary
A healthcare facility is seeking a Sterile Supply Technician responsible for the decontamination sterilization and preparation of surgical instruments and trays used in operating rooms and clinical areas. This role ensures all equipment is processed safely efficiently and in compliance with strict aseptic and infection control standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform decontamination disinfection and sterilization of surgical instruments
- Assemble and prepare both simple and complex surgical trays
- Operate sterilization equipment including steam Steris and Sterrad systems
- Conduct quality checks to ensure accuracy and functionality
- Maintain proper documentation of sterilization and decontamination processes
- Respond to urgent and emergent requests from clinical staff
- Follow aseptic techniques and infection control protocols
- Ensure proper handling storage and distribution of sterile supplies
Required Qualifications
- Certified Central Service Technician (required)
OR - Minimum 1 year of experience as a Central Service Technician in a healthcare setting
- Must pass pre-employment health clearance
Skills & Experience
- Minimum 1 year of relevant experience (required)
- Nationally accredited Central Service Technician certification (highly preferred)
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Knowledge of sterilization methods and equipment
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
Additional Information
- Night shift position with rotating weekends and holidays
- High-volume sterile processing environment
- Strong adherence to safety and infection control protocols required
