Job Summary

The Director of Scholar Wellness and Support provides strategic leadership and oversight for mental health initiatives SEL programming and crisis intervention protocols across the network. This role leads and coaches a team of social workers and counselors to ensure the implementation of multi-tiered behavior supports and high-quality wellness resources for students families and staff. The Director also serves as a critical liaison for specialized student populations including foster care and justice-involved youth.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Strategic Leadership: Create short-term and long-term plans to enhance mental health support de-stigmatize mental health issues and develop crisis intervention protocols.
  • Systems Management: Develop implement and manage mental health and wellness programs and resources ensuring multi-tiered behavior support (MTSS) is implemented with fidelity.
  • Team Management: Develop coach and supervise school based counselors and social workers.
  • Professional Learning: Provide training to social workers counselors and educators on SEL principles and strategy incorporation and organize wellness awareness campaigns for families and employees.
  • Data and Accountability: Collect analyze and report on program effectiveness and engagement data to drive continuous improvement.
  • Partnerships: Establish and maintain partnerships with external mental health organizations and community resources.
  • Liaison Duties: Act as the Foster Care and Justice-Involved Youth Liaison to ensure specialized support for vulnerable student populations.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: Bachelors Degree in Social Work or a related field preferred

Experience:

  • 5 years of experience in school-based mental health social work or counseling.
  • 3 years of experience in a leadership or supervisory role managing mental health professionals.
  • Experience implementing SEL frameworks and multi-tiered systems of support (MTSS).

Licensure and Certification(s):

Technical Skills and Knowledge:

  • Strong knowledge of trauma-informed practices and crisis intervention strategy.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and technical support skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills for data driven decision making.
  • Ability to keep student and employee information highly confidential.
  • Proficient with Google Drive.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with speed precision and accuracy.
  • Requires working as part of a group to solve complex school-based issues and problems.

  • 60% in school buildings per week.
