Job Description:
A Brief Overview
Installs inspects troubleshoots repairs calibrates performs preventative maintenance incoming inspections and modifications on patient care equipment and other clinical equipment. This employee is required to install inspect troubleshoot repair calibrate perform preventive maintenance incoming inspections and modifications on patient care equipment and other clinical knowledge of engineering biology and biomechanical principles to the design development and evaluation of biological and health systems and products such as instrumentation medical information systems and health management and care delivery systems.
What you will do
- Install adjust maintain and/or repair biomedical equipment.
- The ability to perform duties under minimal supervision and to complete assignee tasks in a professional and timely manner.
- Experience with a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) and have a working knowledge of office applications (Word Excel Outlook).
- Responsible for maintaining a clean and orderly work area at all times.
- Responsible for scheduling preventive maintenance of medical equipment in the CMMS system and completing appropriate documentation in a professional and timely manner with minimal supervision.
- Responsible for recording in the CMMS software database any assigned medical device service or maintenance event performed. All recordings are to be accurate and timely in a manner to assure the integrity of all CMMS archived medical devices and staff work performance history.
- Communicates and updates all clinical customers as to medical equipment service and maintenance events and device status to assure the best delivery of care.
- Evaluate the safety efficiency and effectiveness of biomedical equipment.
- Ability to orchestrate multiple issues events and situations simultaneously while maintaining a good disposition.
- Understand all phases of electrical safety including methods of prevention knowledge of shock hazards and safe leakage current levels. This includes electrical service grounding isolated power GFCI receptacles and LIM receptacles.
- Appropriately orders supplies parts and equipment necessary for preventive maintenance or stock.
- Practice universal precautions to assure that infection control is maximized.
- Advise and assist in the application of instrumentation in clinical environments.
- Research new materials to be used for products.
Qualifications:
Qualifications
- Associates Degree (AA) in Biomedical Equipment Technology from an accredited college (preferred) or
- Associates Degree (AA) in Electronics from an accredited college (preferred) or
- US Military Training in Biomedical Electronics (preferred) or
- 1-3 years experience (preferred)
- Experience in a health care facility (preferred)
- Display effective oral written communication and computer skills
- Knowledge of circuit boards processors chips electronic equipment and computer hardware and software including applications and programming.
- Knowledge of relevant equipment policies procedures and strategies to promote effective local state or regulatory bodies the protection of people data property and institutions.
- Understanding written sentences and paragraphs in work related documents.
- Managing ones own time and the time of others.
- Giving full attention to what other people are saying taking time to understand the points being made asking questions as appropriate and not interrupting at inappropriate times.
- Considering the relative costs and benefits of potential actions to choose the most appropriate one.
