Job Summary
Mercy Health is seeking a dedicated and experienced Family Practice Physician to provide full-spectrum inpatient hospital coverage at Mercy Health Marcum and Wallace delivering continuous 24-hour care in a high-responsibility locum tenens role where the provider serves as the sole physician covering inpatient and nursing home call duties during each assigned block.
- Dates needed: Dec 28 2026 Jan 4 2027
- Shift times: 7a 7a (24-hour coverage)
- Average census: 14 with approx. those SWING
- Practice setting: Hospital inpatient coverage
- Call Schedule: Unrestricted call while not onsite at MW Hospital (while not making rounds) including nursing home call coverage in the county
- Call Ratio: This physician will be the only provider taking call during these shifts
- Will Other Internal Medicine Physicians Provide Coverage During Locums Coverage Dates No
- How Many Mid-Levels Provide Coverage: 1 Physician Assistant
- 25-bed hospital
- Level IV Trauma Center
- Adult and Geriatric patient population
- On-site Lab and Radiology services
- Documentation System: Epic EMR
- OB volume: 0 patients/day
- Rates: $4000/24 hours with a minimum of 4 hours gratis.
- Call Back: $412.50/hour of patient contact hours to apply after gratis hours.
Requirement description : ALL OF THE FOLLOWING SHOULD BE NOTED IN ADDITIONAL SUBMISSION DETAILS. REQUIRED PRIOR TO CLIENT PRESENTATION UNLESS OTHERWISE NOTED
- Board Certified (Family Medicine or Internal Medicine) REQUIRED
- Kentucky Medical License REQUIRED
- Kentucky DEA REQUIRED
- BLS Certification REQUIRED

ADDITIONAL LICENSE REQUIREMENTS : Kentucky DEA (KY DEA)
Weekend Requirements : Continuous 24-hour coverage includes full weekend shifts within the assignment period (Dec 28 2026 Jan 4 2027 7:00 AM 7:00 AM daily coverage)
On Call Requirements : Unrestricted 24-hour call coverage (7:00 AM 7:00 AM) while not onsite including responsibility for nursing home call in the county; physician is the only provider on call during assigned shifts.
