Job Title: Locum General Practitioner Enhanced Access Clinics (Saturdays)
Location: St Neots area Cambridgeshire
Hours: Saturdays (Enhanced Access Clinics)
Contract Type: Locum / Sessional
Rate: Competitive (dependent on experience)
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Locum General Practitioner to support our Enhanced Access service delivering high-quality primary care to patients during Saturday clinics. This role is ideal for a GP looking to supplement their weekday commitments while contributing to improved patient access and continuity of care.
Key Responsibilities
Provide safe effective and patient-centred consultations (face-to-face telephone and/or video)
Assess diagnose and manage a wide range of acute and chronic conditions
Prescribe medications in accordance with best practice and national guidelines
Manage clinical workload efficiently within allocated sessions
Maintain accurate and contemporaneous clinical records using the practices clinical system
Work collaboratively with the wider multidisciplinary team
Support continuity of care and appropriate follow-up arrangements
Adhere to safeguarding infection control and clinical governance standards
Enhanced Access Duties
Deliver appointments as part of the Enhanced Access programme improving availability outside core hours
Manage pre-booked and where appropriate same-day appointments
Provide urgent care within primary care scope
Ensure appropriate signposting or escalation when required
Essential Requirements
Fully qualified GP with current registration on the General Medical Council GP Register
Inclusion on the NHS Performers List
Valid licence to practise in the UK
Up-to-date indemnity cover
Excellent clinical communication and organisational skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Desirable Criteria
Previous experience in Enhanced Access or out-of-hours GP services
Familiarity with EMIS SystmOne or other GP clinical systems
Experience working in diverse or high-demand primary care settings
