LCDS is hiring a Contract Part-time Retail Sales Associate to join our team this summer at the Olde Post Office Gift Shoppe in Petrolia!
Hiring for this position is subject to the Canada Summer Job Program funding.
The successful candidate will assist with sales and administrative tasks such as:
Providing customer service
Completing inventory
Accepting and pricing products
Restocking merchandise and creating displays
Processing point of sale
Ensuring health and safety within the retail store
The candidate will assist customers to find products and provide information to customers about merchandise for sale. The candidate will serve ice cream products as required.
The candidate should have excellent customer service skills and be able to respond promptly to customer needs and requests for service or assistance. They should also have strong communication and interpersonal skills and an understanding of health & safety practices.
If the Canada Summer Jobs funding is not approved the eligible criteria is:
Excellent customer service and communication skills
Food Handlers Certificate required (or willing to obtain)
Compensation and Scheduling:
$17.60 per hour
Contract Part-time: up to 30 hours per week
Position from approximately May 11 2026 - August 30 2026

Requirements of the Canada Summer Jobs Program for this position:
Be between 15 and 30 years of age at the beginning of the employment period
Be a Canadian citizen permanent resident or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment
Have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations
