About the Job
Build your career where safety truly matters. As a Health & Safety Coordinator youll play a hands-on role in keeping our people safe across our Niagara area sites.
Reporting directly to the Health & Safety Manager youll support the implementation and ongoing improvement of our Safety Management System (SMS). Youll work closely with site teams supervisors and Joint Health & Safety Committees (JHSCs) to ensure compliance lead by example in the field and help foster a strong proactive safety culture.
This position is based out of our Niagara Falls office with regular travel to local work sites.
Salary: $65000 $75000 (based on experience and qualifications)
What Youll Be Doing
In this dynamic field-focused role youll be a key partner in driving safety excellence across our operations:
- Support day-to-day compliance with applicable legislation company policies and SMS standards
- Assist in developing site-specific Safe Operating Procedures (SOPs) and deliver training to employees
- Conduct site inspections hazard assessments and participate in incident investigations
- Maintain accurate safety records and submit reports using eCompliance (forms checklists field observations)
- Participate in JHSC meetings and provide technical support for safety initiatives
- Work alongside Supervisors and Managers to implement immediate corrective actions and practical field solutions
- Contribute to Safety Alerts and internal communications with real-world field-driven insights
- Prepare and track weekly KPI updates for the Health & Safety Manager
Heres What You Need
Post-secondary education in Occupational Health & Safety (college diploma or university degree)
CRSP designation (or working toward it) is considered an asset
Valid drivers license and access to a reliable vehicle (required for travel between sites)
Solid understanding of health and safety legislation and industry best practices
Strong communication and interpersonal skillsyoure comfortable working with crews supervisors and committees
Ability to conduct inspections and support incident investigations in active work environments
Highly organized with strong attention to detail for accurate reporting and documentation
Comfortable using safety software systems such as eCompliance
