About the role

As a Head of Investment Operations you will be responsible for establishing and overseeing robust operational governance to support MS Res investment activities. You will ensure effective oversight of outsourced middle and backoffice services with a strong focus on operational risk management controls accuracy and regulatory compliance (including FINMA).

Your responsibilities

• Operational Governance: Develop and manage (performance) governance frameworks for monitoring external service providers in trade settlement reconciliation and guidelines compliance
• Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks associated with outsourced operational processes focusing on accuracy / compliance
• Compliance Management: Ensure that external operations adhere to regulatory (FINMA) requirements / internal standards and control frameworks
• Internal Governance: Documentation of key governance frameworks such as Investment Risk Policy Competency Frameworks end-to-end investment-related internal ICF processes
• Performance Reporting: Implement internal control mechanisms and manage performance reporting
• Reporting & Coordination: Provide detailed operational performance reports to senior management support process improvement
• Data Infrastructure Management: Contribute to maintaining the internal data warehouse
• Stakeholder Engagement & Influence: Build and maintain strong relationships with senior internal stakeholders (e.g. finance actuarial risk management) and external partners (such as Fund Management Company global custody and fund services provider asset managers etc.)

Your profile

• Experience Level: 10 operations management or reinsurance with proven experience in governance and oversight of outsourced services
• Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with operational management tools such as SimCorp Clearwater Analytics or similar platforms
• Regulatory & Risk Knowledge: Deep understanding of financial services regulations including outsourcing and operational compliance (e.g. FINMA IFRS 9 / 17)
• Governance & Control Skills: Strong capability in setting up monitoring and control framework for internal and external service providers
• Stakeholder Influence & Collaboration: Strong track record of engaging senior internal stakeholders and external partners fostering alignment across Investment Risk Finance and Data teams
• Change: Proven experience working within a dynamic change-driven environment
• Leadership Attributes: Strategic thinker influential communicator and change leader with the ability to shape decisions
• Education & Credentials: Bachelors or Masters degree in Business Administration Operations Management or related field
