The Opportunity
Were looking for a confident and experienced People & Culture Specialist Advisor to join our global team based in our Brisbane Operations office. This role is pivotal in enabling Cochlears culture and business priorities by delivering specialist policy governance and process advice to senior leaders people managers and employees across Australia.

This is not a generalist or business partnering role. Instead it requires deep expertise in employee relations injury management and policy advisory within a complex global corporate environment.

Please note: This role does not include EBA negotiations or union bargaining.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage complex employee relations cases including performance and conduct matters.

  • Provide specialist advice across the employee lifecycle grounded in policy and legislation.

  • Lead injury management and recovery-at-work processes particularly within QLD jurisdiction.

  • Collaborate with Employment Relations and WHS teams to deliver risk-based advice.

  • Drive continuous improvement in service delivery and internal customer experience.

  • Use data to inform prioritisation monitor trends and support decision-making.

  • Partner across teams to scale consistent globally aligned solutions.

About You
You are a thoughtful and strategic advisor who thrives in complexity and ambiguity. You bring a calm professional presence to sensitive matters and make sound decisions rooted in policy legislation and empathy. Youre comfortable working within a shared services model supporting multiple regions and navigating matrixed structures.

To be successful youll need to demonstrate:

  • Experience managing complex ER cases and navigating sensitive conduct and performance matters.

  • Expertise in policy interpretation governance and process advisory.

  • Strong capability in injury management and return-to-work coordination.

  • Proven ability to support organisational change through risk-based advice.

  • A track record of improving service delivery and internal customer experience.

  • Comfort with data-driven decision-making and trend analysis.

  • Experience collaborating across teams in a global or matrixed organisation.

Bonus Qualifications:

  • Experience managing psychological injury cases.

  • Certifications such as Return to Work Coordinator Training Mental Health First Aid or a Diploma in Work Health and Safety.
