Job Description
Kinvarra Farm has been run by the Hickey Family for the last 50 years. Well established with a herd of 550 producing 200000 kgms the farm has a milking platform of 225 effective hectares and a 40 hectare block supporting young stock 90% easy contour. System 4.
Autumn calving from the 1st April so lets get you on board! Milking in 2 herringbone sheds (one 28 aside and one 20 aside).
As the 2IC you will be part of a team managing 2 full time staff and 2 part time staff. Working with the Farm Owners and Farm Consultants you will be hands on maintain milk quality standards and ensuring the farms KPIs are met. Animal Health is No. 1 at Kinvarra (they have a good relationship with the local vet club) along with accurate and timely Ospri and Minda recording and data collection. Recent upgrades to the farms feedpad bunker and effluent system have now been completed. Roster of 11 on 3 off.

- High standards strong attention to detail and the ability to work well in the Farm Managers absence.
The position comes with a 4 bedroom home recently painted and double glazed. Waerenga Primary school is 5km away and Te Kauwhata college 10kms away (the bus stops at the gate).
