Job Summary
Position Purpose:
Oversees the daily clinical operations staffing budgeting and quality initiatives of a dedicated med-surg unit. Responsible for hiring mentoring and evaluating staff while ensuring evidence-based care. Key duties include enhancing patient outcomes maintaining safety standards and fostering collaboration with physicians and nursing teams
What will you do:
Clinical Leadership & Staffing: Recruit train and manage nursing staff schedules to ensure adequate high-quality care coverage.
Quality & Patient Care: Ensure compliance with state federal and hospital standards (e.g. patient safety goals infection control).
Administrative Management: Manage unit budgets monitor expenses and manage unit supplies.
Staff Development: Conduct performance evaluations provide mentorship and handle disciplinary actions.
Collaboration: Act as a liaison between staff physicians and administrative leadership to improve patient outcomes
Education & Qualifications
*Graduate from an accredited school of nursing is required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing required.
* Specialty certification desirable.
* Previous experience as regular Charge Nurse or Assistant Head Nurse level on a nursing unit required.
* Strong leadership traits as well as experience with staffing scheduling and strong communication skills necessary.
Licensure:
* Current licensure as a Registered Professional Nurse in the State of Florida
