What youll be doing
As a Software Engineer Backend in the Core Team youll play an important role in building and maintaining the backbone of our payment platform. You will be a key contributor to the technical quality and delivery of robust systems that support multiple services and product teams across the company. Heres what your day-to-day will look like:

• Contribute to core platform domains: You will help build maintain and scale our most sensitive systemssuch as the Transaction Ledger Identity & Access Management (IAM) or Payment Orchestration. Youll work closely with senior engineers to ensure these engines remain high-performant secure and functional for our product teams.

• Develop risk & financial engines: You will implement and optimise services dedicated to bank integrations credit risk and real-time fraud detection. Youll write the robust logic that protects our source of truth and secures Satispays financial ecosystem.

• Collaborate on technical solutions: You will participate in technical analysis for new projects and feature developments. Youll engage in technical discussions and contribute to high-quality documentation (Smart Papers) to ensure your implementations are clear robust and aligned with team goals.

• Drive engineering quality: You will ensure technical excellence by writing clean maintainable code implementing rigorous testing strategies and executing safe rollouts. Youll work with your team to troubleshoot and resolve technical blockers promoting a culture of simplicity in the codebase.

• Work in an AI-powered environment: You will leverage AI tools daily to write and optimise code speed up root cause analysis and generate documentation raising the bar for engineering efficiency.

• Grow and collaborate: You will actively work with senior engineers to elevate your own technical and architectural skills while also supporting junior team members. Youll help the team adopt best practices to keep development cycles efficient secure and reliable.

Expect challenges collaboration and the freedom to bring your ideas to life. Our tech stack includes (but is not limited to) PostgreSQL Java and Spring Boot. We rely on AWS for our infrastructure with microservices deployed on EC2/ECS S3 for storage AWS Lambda for serverless functions and Kinesis and ElasticSearch for log streaming. Youll take ownership of your assigned features and components from start to finish.

Who were looking for
We are looking for a proactive problem-solver who takes initiative and excels in building robust mission-critical logic. Does it sound like you

• Experience: You have at least 3 years of experience as a Backend Engineer with a proven track record of building and maintaining scalable microservices in fast-paced contexts.

• Technical Foundations: Deep expertise in Java and Spring Boot. You have a solid understanding of distributed systems and experience (or strong interest) in managing external dependencies like banking APIs.

• Cloud Awareness: Good exposure to cloud environments (AWS is a plus) and relational databases (PostgreSQL).

• Reliability Mindset: You care deeply about system health data integrity and clean business logic. You are comfortable debugging complex issues across different services.

• Communication: You are able to communicate technical concepts clearly and collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical peers.

• Passion and Language Skills: You are passionate about FinTech and fluent in English.
