Staff Accountant

WHO YOU ARE:

As a Staff Accountant you will play a key role in managing the companys financial records ensuring completeness and accuracy while supporting the Accounting team. You will assist with month-end close processes reconciliations financial reporting and other duties.

WHAT YOULL DO:

• Reconciling and maintaining accounting records as needed for the coordination preparation and submission of various required reports including verifying balancing and reconciling various kinds of transactions and reports
• Prepare month-end reconciliations and supporting schedules. Timely identify and resolve reconciling items
• Prepare journal entries in various areas including but not limited to cash prepaids AP accrued expenses payroll debt lease goodwill intangibles and related amortization fixed assets and prepaids
• Partner with each Zinnia site location to track and timely reconcile intercompany transactions. Investigate and timely resolve issues to ensure proper month-end financial reporting
• Assist with annual audits and provide auditors required documentation
• Document financial statement close process activities that occur to maintain effective control environment
• Review P&L coding to ensure proper presentation of related costs
• Track and record corporate cost allocations
• Keeping track of month-end close checklist to ensure timely month/quarter-end close
• Collect and provide information needed for the annual financial statement preparation
• Assist with internal ad-hoc reporting/requests

WHAT YOULL NEED:

• Bachelors degree in Accounting required
• CPA Preferred
• 2-4 years of experience in corporate environment
• Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles required
• Strong to advanced Microsoft Excel skills
• Experience using NetSuite a plus
• Able to multi-task in fast paced environment
• Detail oriented with strong analytical problem-solving and organizational skills
• Ability to take initiative and work independently in a team environment
• Strong verbal and written communications skills

• Industry knowledge in Life Insurance Insurtech or Fintech is a plus
