Job Summary

Our client is a major FMCG powerhouse based in Cape Town operating across multiple sites where volume efficiency and precision are everything. Theyre looking for an Operational Asset Accountant to take full ownership of the asset lifecycle from acquisition to disposal while partnering with operations to ensure financial discipline across stores and projects. This isnt just about asset registers; its about linking finance to operations translating numbers into action and keeping costs controls and compliance tightly managed in a fast-moving environment.

Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the full fixed asset lifecycle
- Maintain asset registers depreciation amortisation and reconciliations
- Perform physical asset verification and strengthen controls
- Support operational and project teams with financial insights
- Ensure IFRS compliance and accurate asset reporting
- Monitor and analyse key cost drivers across stores
- Translate FP&A insights into practical operational actions
- Drive cost efficiency and financial accountability at a business unit level
Job Experience and Skills Required:
- Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or a related field
- Professional registration preferred (SAICA / SAIPA / CIMA)
- 3 to 5 years experience in asset accounting or commercial finance
- Experience in multi-entity / multi-site environments
- Strong knowledge of IFRS and fixed asset accounting principles
- Solid understanding of depreciation amortisation and compliance
- Experience with ERP systems (SAP Oracle and Business Central)
- Advanced MS Excel skills
- Strong analytical reconciliation and problem-solving ability
- High attention to detail and ability to handle high transaction volumes
- Ability to mentor junior team members and contribute to team growth
