We are seeking a dependable safety-focused Yard Associate (Seasonal/Summer Student) to join our Dartmouth NS operations for the summer. As a key member of our front-line team you will take ownership of the daily yard operations in a fast-paced customer service-driven environment ensuring efficiency organization and a consistently positive experience for our customers.
This is a hands-on active role where your ability to work quickly prioritize tasks and deliver excellent customer service directly impacts both customer satisfaction and overall team success. Typical shifts are 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM or 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM Monday to Friday.

Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities & Priorities:
- Assist customers and contractors with product selection and safely load materials.
- Pick stage and load outgoing orders accurately and efficiently in a high-volume fast-paced setting.
- Receive incoming shipments and verify for accuracy and damage.
- Perform regular inventory checks and confirm materials against customer receipts.
- Support yard layout improvements to enhance flow and reduce material handling.
- Conduct daily inspections of mobile equipment including forklifts.
- Enforce PPE compliance and uphold all safety standards.
- Maintain a clean organized and hazard-free work environment.
What youll need
Qualifications
- Experience in a yard warehouse landscaping or shipping/receiving environment is an asset.
- Forklift certification and/or experience is an asset (or willingness to learn).
- Ability to safely handle heavy merchandise and work outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office or similar).
- Strong work ethic and attention to detail.
- Friendly professional attitude with solid customer service skills.
- A strong commitment to safety - for yourself and your team.
