What youll do

Responsibilities

This position provides support for the Chairpersons of the Department of Applied Human Nutrition and the Department of Aging and Family Science. The incumbent is responsible for ensuring that all academic and administrative operations are maintained on a day-to-day basis. The overall efficiency for both departments depend upon the incumbents understanding and prioritizing skills required to effectively maintain the goals of the faculty staff and students. It is crucial that the incumbent provide superior administrative support for all faculty staff and students.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have a 2-year community college diploma in office administration or a related area and a minimum of 2-years related experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

You have strong interpersonal and communications skills. You are a motivated team player and independent thinker with excellent writing skills and an ability to build effective relationships. You are comfortable managing multiple requests capable of prioritizing and meeting deadlines and collaborating with faculty and staff to develop solutions. You are committed to equity diversity inclusion and accessibility (EDIA) and committed to Truth and Reconciliation. You are also committed to continuous process improvement are results-oriented and always anticipate and plan accordingly. Candidates should be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel Word PowerPoint) social media platforms website platforms such as WordPress and have an aptitude for or previous experience using business enterprise systems such as Colleague Banner PeopleSoft etc.
