About The Role

Ecojustice offers a unique articling experience focusing on environmental law. We are currently seeking one articling student in our Ottawa office for the 2027-28 term to provide litigation support to our program team of lawyers by:

• Conducting legal policy and general research
• Preparing legal memoranda primarily in the areas of environmental and administrative law
• Drafting pleadings and preparation of case books
• Assisting in researching and writing Ecojustice reports
• Assisting with requests for information and reviews under theFreedom of Information ActandAccess to Information Act
• Interacting with clients and other non-governmental environmental organizations

Role Success

Typically we find that people who succeed in this role bring:

• Have a demonstrated interest in environmental law and a desire to work in the public interest area
• Are familiar with environmental and administrative law
  
• Possess excellent research and writing skills
  
• Bilingualism in English and French is an asset

• Law school transcripts and list of anticipated upper year courses
• Writing sample preferably a legal research memo from law school or your previous experiences 10 pages maximum
