Master Control Operator (6-Month Contract)Blue Ant Media Inc. is currently looking for a Master Control Operator. This position will be responsible for data integrity and on-air quality across all Responsibilities & DutiesMaintain a high level of On-Air QualityContinuous monitoring of audio video captioning graphics and descriptive video on both domestic and international feedsTroubleshoot and respond to third party clients BDUs on outagesManage Automation Playlists - Import and modify traffic log content of both domestic and international feedsEnsure programming promotional & commercial content are consistent with schedulingDownloading of commercial content as per traffic instructionsIngest Marker/Trim and general QC of contentPerform any live system switches as required; Department On-Air Discrepancy reporting and follow-upPerform Quality Control for on-air programming to ensure it is acceptable for airWork crossfunctionally with various departments to ensure all teams interface efficientlyAbility to work all shifts including weekends overnights and holidaysOther duties as assignedQualificationsMust be fluent in EnglishKnowledge of Broadcast Centre Signal FlowTechnical or Operational knowledge of the following systems preferred but not limited to:Evertz Mediator AutomationTelestream Vantage TranscodingFTP Filezilla and web portal transfers and managementMedia ProxyMicrosoft ExcelGoogle Workspace (i.e. Gmail Google Drive Google Sheets etc.)Familiarity with multiple aspect ratios and UHD technologyAbility to troubleshoot efficiently and meet tight deadlinesGood communication skills and strong technical vocabularyResponsibility for and ownership of on-air look and feel through data integrity troubleshooting and problem-solving abilitiesSelf-starter that demonstrates initiative and ability to work both independently and as a member of a core broadcast -secondary education in a television/broadcast media-related discipline is an asset
