As a Shipping Technician at POSS you will be responsible for the smooth and efficient processing of outgoing and incoming shipments. Your main duties will include preparing orders for shipment organizing packages and ensuring compliance with shipping regulations. Your attention to detail ability to work in a fast-paced environment and commitment to maintaining a well-organized shipping department will be essential in meeting our customer demands and maintaining our excellent reputation.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Accurately and efficiently pick pack and label products for outgoing shipments.
  • Manage daily shipping report and follow up on past due shipments
  • Prepare shipping documents including packing lists and shipping labels as needed
  • Utilize shipping software and computer systems to generate shipping labels and track shipments as needed
  • Ensure all shipments are adequately packed and protected to prevent damage during transit.
  • Organize and maintain the shipping area including keeping it clean tidy and well-stocked with shipping supplies.
  • Collaborate with the warehouse team to prioritize orders and meet shipping deadlines.
  • Communicate with internal teams and customers regarding shipment status tracking information and delivery updates.
  • Handle shipping-related inquiries and resolve any issues or discrepancies with shipments promptly.
  • Comply with all shipping regulations and safety guidelines to ensure a secure and efficient shipping process.
  • Assist in periodic inventory counts and maintain accurate records of outgoing shipments.
  • Support purchasing in processing item returns to suppliers as needed.
  • Continuously improve shipping operations.
  • Flexible to work overtime on short notice when applicable.
  • Observes safety and security procedures; Uses equipment and materials properly; Reports potentially unsafe conditions.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Proficiency in using shipping software enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems and other relevant tools for inventory and shipping management. Familiarity with packaging techniques and handling various types of products to prevent damage during transportation.
  • Understand all aspects of the receiving process including accepting deliveries inspecting goods for damages and verifying quantities against purchase orders.
  • Efficiently pick and assemble kits based on production requirements.
  • Conduct regular cycle counts of inventory to verify accuracy and identify any discrepancies.
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative in managing shipping tasks.
  • Have a comprehensive understanding of tariff codes and their application in international trade and customs regulations.
  • Demonstrated success in coordinating and optimizing shipping operations.
  • Proven track record of participating in improvement projects.
  • In-depth knowledge of shipping operations packaging labeling and dispatching goods.
  • Demonstrates ability to act in a lead role as needed.


Qualifications

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 3 years or more of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Additional technical or vocational training in logistics supply chain management or related fields.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions short correspondence and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to add subtract multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers common fractions and decimals.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written oral diagram or schedule form.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Effective communication skills to interact with team members and customers professionally.
  • Familiarity with shipping software inventory management systems and basic computer skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to accurately process and document shipments.
  • Knowledge of shipping regulations international shipping procedures and customs documentation is a plus.
  • Must have a valid drivers license and be able to obtain a forklift certificate.
