Clinic Nurse, Endoscopy (Part-time)

This job posting is for a current vacancy.We arerecruiting for an experienced Registered Nurse to join our Endoscopy team. This individual must share our passion for delivering excellent client-focused expert care and have experience in a clinical setting. The ideal candidate will possess compassionate care and communication skills. The candidate must work well as part of a team.
What Youll Do:
Assist physician with procedure biopsy and polyp removal
Prepare the patient for endoscopy procedures reviewing pre-anesthetic questionnaire and consent form
Initiate peripheral I.V. Therapy and monitor
Monitor patient throughout procedure and assist with client comfort and safety during examination
Monitor patients in recovery roompost-procedurefrom conscious or deep sedation and manage adverse events as needed
Educate patients on post-procedure care as necessary
Assist with monitoring and facilitating the flow of patients through the endoscopy clinic
Coordinate with other clinic staff to ensure an exceptional delivery of service to the client
Flexibility to float and provide nursing support to other departments such as Year Round Care as needed.
What Youll Need:
Registered Nurse in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario
2 years of nursing experience
Proficient IV initiation and management
Nursing experience in an endoscopy clinic an asset
Prior Endoscopy procedure room experience is preferred
Current BLS Healthcare level and ACLS required
Superior organization and time management skills
Excellent communication skills
Proficient in MS Office Excel and Outlook
This is a part-time role that will be typically be scheduled for24 hours per week. The days may vary based on physician scheduling and procedures. Procedures are usually performed during the hours of 7.00 a.m. to 4 p.m. (Monday through Friday).
Position Pay Range:
Pay is determined based on your RN registration date.
1 year: $35.47
2 years: $36.54
3 years: $38.39
4 years: $39.98
5 years: $41.94
6 years: $43.87
7 years: $47.08
8 years: $50.85
The above figures are an hourly rate. All amounts are in CAD.
Pay will be determined based on an analysis of the selected candidates experience and qualifications within our nursing grid. Medcans compensation ranges are determined by a combination of required qualifications and skills market value and internal equity. The above range pertains solely to the base compensation and is not inclusive of additional compensation details such as perks benefits and potential bonuses or incentives.
