We are seeking a Quality Assurance Lead to take ownership of quality across our simulation products and establish a scalable modern testing capability.
Today testing is largely manual and ad hoc. This role will define and implement the processes tools and automation strategy needed to enable more frequent reliable and measurable testing across complex integrated systems.
You will play a key role in improving product quality increasing test coverage and ensuring clear visibility into release readiness.

QA Strategy & Process Development
Define and implement a comprehensive QA strategy for simulation systems
Establish repeatable testing processes standards and best practices
Introduce traceability between requirements test cases and results
Define quality gates and release readiness criteria
Test Planning Execution & Coverage
Develop and maintain:
Test plans
Test cases
System and integration test procedures
Ensure coverage across:
Functional requirements
System integration (software hardware third-party systems)
Performance stability and reliability
Lead execution of both manual and automated testing
Automation & Tooling
Design and implement automated testing frameworks
Expand use of existing scripted test capabilities
Integrate testing into build and deployment workflows (CI/CD where applicable)
Simulation & System-Level Testing
Develop strategies for testing complex environments involving:
C applications
Simulation engines like: Virtual Battlespace (VBS) and others
Hardware interfaces and peripherals
Third-party software systems
Enable repeatable and reliable system-level testing
Quality Metrics & Reporting
Define and track key quality metrics:
Test coverage
Pass/fail rates
Defect trends and severity
Produce clear actionable test reports and dashboards
Provide visibility into product quality and risks for stakeholders
Collaboration & Continuous Improvement
Work closely with software developers and systems engineers to:
Improve testability
Support issue investigation and resolution
Participate in:
Requirements reviews
Design reviews
Test readiness reviews (TRR)
Drive a culture of quality ownership across the team
What youll need
Qualifications
Required:
5 years of experience in software quality assurance or testing
Experience developing and implementing test strategies for complex systems
Strong experience in test planning test case development and execution
Hands-on experience with test automation and scripting
Experience working with integrated systems (software hardware) or simulation environments
Solid understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC)
Technical Skills:
Experience testing C applications or similar systems
Proficiency in scripting (e.g. Python shell or similar)
Experience with:
Test management tools (e.g. Xray Test Management for Jira or equivalent)
Defect tracking systems (e.g. Jira)
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automated testing workflows
Nice to Have:
Experience with simulation or game engines (e.g. VBS Unity Unreal)
Experience in defense aerospace or training systems
Knowledge of hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) or system integration testing
Experience building QA processes in a growing or evolving organization
Other Requirements:
Strong communication and documentation skills
Highly organized and detail-oriented
Ability to obtain Government of Canada security clearance
