Bluevale Capital is a boutique real estate private equity firm that specializes in value-add development and special situational multi-residential projects. Over the past two years the firm has completed over $250M of transactions with the intention of creating a $1B real estate fund over the next 2-3 years. By working with government leaders and by partnering with our sponsors and lenders the companys vision is to create 10000 residential units with a focus on tackling the affordable housing crisis in North America. The Role Intern Finance & Accounting(Summer)
AsanInternFinance & Accountingyou will supportourFinance & Accounting Teamwithall backmiddleand front office directly totheDirectorFinancethis role will allowhigh levelsof exposure todaily operations at a dynamic & growing Private Equity Firmand you will havelots ofopportunitiestodevelophands-onskills inmany areas of the that this is adynamicenvironment you must be adaptive in your approach and be able to work independently under limited supervision. A passion for real estate is a must!
What Youll Do:
Accounting & Reporting Support
- Support senior accounting staff with month-end closing tasks including preparation of schedules adjusting entries and reconciliations for a subset of property entities.
- Assistin the preparation of internal financial reports and working papers for auditors external accountants or senior management.
Bank & General Ledger Reconciliations
- Perform regular bank reconciliations for property and corporate bank accounts.
- Assistwith monthly general ledger reconciliations and ensure accuracy of balances.
Process Improvement & Team Collaboration
- Assistin implementing accounting process improvements and automation initiatives.
- Collaborate with the property management operations and finance teams to resolve accounting-related questions.
Accounts Payable & Receivable
- Record vendor invoices and ensuretimelypaymentsin accordance withcompany policies.
- Process employee expense reports and credit card transactions.
- Assistwith posting and reconciling rent collections deposits and other income items.
Requirements
- Bachelors degreein progress majoringinBusinessFinance or Accounting
- Proficiencyin Microsoft Office withstrongskills in Excel or spreadsheets
- Attention to Detail: Consistently produces high-quality workincredibly detail-oriented and investigates discrepancies with curiosity.
- High levelofprofessionalism and responsiveness in all interactions with vendors employees and other stakeholders
- Solutionoriented approachwith a growth mindset
- Strong communicationskills proactivelydiscussing challenges with the team and Managing Director
