Assistant Professor, Chiropody (2 Positions)
Job Summary
As a core member of the academic team this role contributes to program development student success and effective collaboration across faculty staff and clinical partners.
- Providing academic leadership fostering an effective learning environment and upholding all professional and provincial standards
- Utilizing innovative teaching techniques to facilitate the learning process (theory and practice)
- Evaluating student progress and achievement while providing student advisement and remedial assistance
- Liaising with other faculty and staff at the Michener Institute and personnel at affiliated clinical sites
- Fosters knowledge building and transfer including practical skills methods and techniques
- Challenges thought processes fosters collaboration and develops the ability of students to engage in critical thinking
- Participating in internal committees
Qualifications :
- Registered with the College of Chiropodists of Ontario in good standing
- Capable of teaching labs and clinic
- Degree and/or Masters level education preferred
- Experience working/teaching in field within last 12 months preferred
- Certification by and membership in relevant professional association(s)
- Training and experience in adult education an asset
- Skill in various teaching approaches and innovations including online/hybrid delivery modes
- Strong organizational and leadership skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Familiarity with MS Office presentation and curriculum design software
- Satisfactory Canadian Police Clearance document required upon hire
